The weather in Tumbler Ridge is influenced by the complex mountainous terrain, interactions of the warm, moist Pacific air and the colder, dryer Arctic air masses. The climate of the area is characterized by cool winters with frequent chinooks and warm, sunny spings and summers with long daylight hours. Precipitation in the form of rain and snow is approximately 496 mm annually.
IF YOU TALK TO A LOCAL ABOUT THE WEATHER, THEY WILL OFTEN ANSWER; "IF YOU DON'T LIKE WHAT WE HAVE RIGHT NOW, JUST WAIT A HALF AN HOUR- IT WILL CHANGE."

Welcome!
To Tumbler Ridge.
We are nestled in the beautiful eastern foothills of the Northern Rocky Mountains, on a plateau above the confluence of three major rivers, the Murray, Wolverine and Flatbed.
Our community has coal mining, gas & oil exploration, lumber, tourism and more.
There are horse back riding trails that are by reports "the best ever", sled trails that go for miles on perfect snow, and scenery and quiet except for nature like none other.
We have dinosaur tracks, fossils, walking trails, waterfalls and many many beautiful lakes and rivers.
